I was strolling merrily around the Syntagma Square area one fine evening in Athens and suddenly started to wonder if I was still in Greece or if I had been transported to an ethnic neighborhood in New York, as I noticed a number of Asian restaurants clustered together on Apollonos and Voulis Streets.
Staffed with Asians and filled with Asian tourists (and not only, of course), these restaurants serve sushi, and other Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Thai, and Indian delicacies.
Dishes are a bit on the pricier side as usual, but if you find yourself in Athens craving Asian takeout or dine-in, know that it exists!
In other areas around town you’re bound to come across other foreign food choices, but I’ve never seen so many Asian eateries in such close proximity to one another.
There’s Noodle Bar, Chopsticks, Koi Sushi Bar, and Furin Kazan among others to choose from.
