Neyers Syrah, Old Lakeville Road, 2012

Hailing from Sonoma Coast, the 2012 Neyers Old Lakeville Syrah is a fine expression of the varietal.

This is a single vineyard production, with all of the Syrah sourced from the Old Lakeville Road site.

Aged entirely in used French Oak, this wine opens with abundant aromatics. Floral and herbaceous notes arrive first, and the savory tones continue to the palate.

Fruit and spice mingle on a meaty, brooding mid-palate, that finishes clean.

This wine is a treat to taste, and it is also food friendly.

As deer hunting season arrives, if you find your refrigerator or freezer stockpiling with venison, grill it or roast it with Mediterranean herbs and spices, and savor it alongside this wine.
