The Cyprus Statistical Service (CyStat) on Wednesday released that which show that building permits are down from January – November 2014 compared with 2013, showing a significant decrease with respect to number of permits, value and total area.

“According to Cystat, in January to November 2014, a total of 4,588 building permits were issued, registering a decrease of 7.3% compared to the corresponding period of the previous year. The total value of these permits decreased by 25.4% and the total area by 26.2%. Τhe number of dwelling units recorded a decrease of 33.1%. The Statistical Service, also announced that the number of building permits authorized by the municipal authorities and the district administration offices during November 2014 stood at 408. The total value of these permits reached €84,0 million and the total area 77,4 thousand square metres,” CNA reported.
