The terrorist Nikos Maziotis underwent a surgery in Evangelismos hospital after being severely injured during the arrest operation occurred yesterday in the center of Athens.
The 43-year-old terrorist Maziotis is still in hospital guarded on the 8th floor of Evangelismos in a special ward for detainees.
According to information, his postoperative condition is good and his lawyer and a relative of him visited him yesterday.
Maziotis suffered an injury to his right shoulder, but it was not as severe as doctors firstly estimated. According to sources in the hospital, a new surgery is planned for next week to see the progress of the healing and check if further actions are needed.
After this period, doctors will decide whether a neurosurgery will be needed.
The injured police officer and the Australian tourist are to be discharged today
A police officer and a tourist were slightly injured during yesterday’s police operation and were transferred to the hospital.
