Whenever I taste a good champagne – I mean, a good champagne – I remember why I drink champagne.

It’s just perfect in every way, and improves any meal, gathering, night, day, or even morning.

I’d drink Charles Heidsieck Brut any time of the day if given the option and/or opportunity.

A classic champagne blend of the big three – Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier, and Chardonnay – it pours a stunning gold in the glass with tiny, tantalizing bubbles floating upward with vivacity. Bold, toasty, complex, and persistent, this wine makes you wonder why you bother with anything still.

I think it’s quite the competitor with other champagnes at its price point, such as Veuve Clicquot or Billecart Salmon. Enjoy this in your favorite crystal. If you need a food pairing excuse, treat yourself to some baklava and call it a good night.
