ATHENS – A parliamentary committee investigating the declaration of wealth forms submitted by extremist LAOS party head Giorgos Karatzaferis said he should face charges.

The committee went along with reported findings that Karatzaferis, who briefly served in a temporary coalition government from 2011-2012, should be made to answer after prosecutors said 1.65 million euros were made  to two offshore companies connected to him.

Officials said businessmen acting as middlemen shuffled the money to the accounts for him in connection with the sale of Super Puma helicopters to the Greek government.

A lamwaker raised the issue of possible payments made to a third offshore company at a Parliament session on Nov. 19, Kathimerini said.
