Chionetti Briccolero Dolcetti di Dogliani 2007
Dolcetto doesn’t always receive the TLC it deserves from wine lovers, and every time I taste a bottle like this one, I wonder why.
Wonderfully textured and smooth, this wine shows dark tones of leather and black cherry.
Chionetti is a talented and acclaimed producer in the region, and their skill is evident in this expertly crafted Dolcetto, which is not the easiest varietal to produce properly.
Medium bodied, with a lingering finish, this wine is great to enjoy on its own, but would also pair well with dishes featuring tomatoes and Kalamata olives.
The 2007 vintage is drinking well currently, but could also be kept for a number of years and continue to mature nicely.
