Homesick for the homeland? How would you like to visit Athens, Cornith, Delphi, Ithaca, Marathon, Sparta, and wind up in Corfu? All on the same day – and you don’t even need a passport!
Those are all cities and towns in New York State – which seems to have more locations named after places in Greece than any other.
Strange though it may sound – it might make for a fun road trip – and with stops along the way – you can start in Corinth at the crack of dawn and wind up in Corfu for dinner.
You might want to wait until springtime, though, as the frigid Upstate New York weather may slow you down a bit.
And though in Corfu – at the end of your destination, you will not find the Mediterranean Sea, there is a consolation prize nearby that is not half bad: Niagara Falls.
Besides, you can dare all your cousins in Greece to try to hit all seven of those spots over there in a day!
