BEIRUT — Lebanese airport officials say a single-engine Cessna training plane has gone missing en route to Beirut from Cyprus.

The officials say two people, a Lebanese and a Cypriot, were aboard the plane which disappeared from the radar 26 miles from the coast.

They spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not allowed to give official statements.

The officials at Beirut International Airport said Lebanese teams were searching for the plane in Lebanese waters.
