WASHINGTON, DC – Investigators continue to try to make sense out of a fire on May 14 that took the lives of four people (still unidentified as of this writing) – three adults and one child – in the home of Greek-American Savas Savopoulos, CEO of American Ironworks, the Daily Mail reported.
The fire at Savopoulos’ home, in the prestigious NW district of Washington, close to the residence of Vice President Joe Biden, is mysterious, the Mail Reported. Among other things, a housekeeper scheduled to work there received a text message from Savopoulos’ wife, Amy, earlier in the day stating the the “family is sick” and for her not to go over that day. “You can come Monday, or any other day, but not today,” said the text, the Mail reported.
The police are asking for information regarding a blue 2008 Porsche with DC plates, CNN reported, which DC Police Chief Cathy Lanier said left the home the morning of May 14 and was found abandoned in the late afternoon.
Savopoulos lives in the home with his wife, 10-year-old son, Philip, and two housekeepers, the Mail reported. The couple’s two teenage daughters, Abigail and Katerina, are away at boarding school.
Philip did not go to school the day of the fire. One of the housekeepers said that the night before, the Savopouloses, Philip, and a housekeeper slept in the house.
