NEW YORK  — A fourth man was charged on Monday in a terrorism case accusing him and others with plotting to have U.S. residents travel overseas to fight for the Islamic state.

Dilkhayot Kasimov was named in a revised indictment unsealed in federal court in Brooklyn. He faces charges of conspiracy and attempting to provide material support to a terrorist organization.

The court papers didn’t say whether Kasimov was in custody or if he had a lawyer. There was no immediate response to a message left Monday with the U.S. Attorney’s office in Brooklyn.

Last month, three immigrants from the former Soviet republics of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan — Abdurasul Hasanovich Juraboev, Akhror Saidakhmetov and Abror Habibov — pleaded not guilty in the same case.

Federal officials said Juraboev and Saidakhmetov had tickets to travel to Turkey but were really going to Syria. Habibov, who was arrested in Florida, is accused of helping the 19-year-old Saidakhmetov with his travel arrangements after the teen’s mother took his passport.

Lawyers say their clients are innocent.
