ATHENS – If there’s a Greek crisis going on, you wouldn’t know it by the leaps in the nation’s domestic airline industry.

Kathimerini reported that domestic passenger traffic increased by 40.2 percent over the past year, according to the Civil Aviation Authority.

International traffic rose as well, by 21.9 percent.

Though some of the figures account for a shift from travel within Greece by Ferry due to the cold and choppy winter seas, the jump is large enough to remain significant, even accounting for such other variables.
