STRASBOURG, France – A Greek Member of the European Parliament, Costas Papadakis, was expelled from a session after interrupting far-right extremist French National Front leader Marine Le Pen, whose party won recent elections to body in her country.

European Parliament President Martin Schulz ordered Papadakis, who belongs to the Greek Communist Party (KKE), to leave the chamber the Greek deputy began to address MEPs in Greek when Le Pen had been given the floor.

Papadakis objected that Le Pen was the first of the non-aligned MEPs to be given the right to speak after the heads of each political grouping in the European Parliament had their say.

He was asked several times to stop interrupting but ignored the request and was tossed by security guards for breaking the chamber’s decorum rules.
