In an interview with TV channel “Skai” on Saturday, the leader of Independent Greeks (ANEL) party Panos Kammenos said that his party does not intend to vote in favour of a new President of the Republic during the imminent three consecutive votes in the Greek Parliament scheduled to have finished by the end of the month.
According to Kammenos “…We won’t vote for a President of the Republic in any of the three votes, that should be clear, it’s finished”.
ANEL leader grasped the opportunity to verbally attack Premier Antonis Samaras, saying that “Mr Samaras cannot negotiate with anyone, because he has signed that he will execute the orders, having given up our homeland”.
Kammenos suggested that a “government of national unity” ought to be formed after the elections, which have not yet been called by PM Samaras (in the event of Parliament’s inability to elect a new President).
