KANSAS CITY, MO – Mike Moustakas doubled home the first run of the game in the bottom of the second inning, and his Kansas City Royals never looked back. They added another eight runs to make it 9-0 against the San Francisco Giants, by the bottom of the seventh when, for good measure Moustakas added another, with a solo home run to right center field.
Coming off a demoralizing loss to Giants’ ace Madison Baumgarner on Sunday night in San Francisco, to cap off a three-game weekend homestand for the National League champion Giants, who won two of three to take a 3-2 World Series league, the games moved back to Kansas City Tuesday night, as the Royals rebounded in grand fashion. They easily could have rolled over and caved to the veteran West Coast team, but the upstart Royals, who win on pitching and defense, found a way to do it with their bats, too.
The final score was Royals. The Series is now tied 3-3, with the 7th and deciding game Wednesday night in Kansas City once again.
