The President of the Republic of Cyprus Nicos Anastasiades felt compelled to respond to Russian embassy statement that is rejected views express in the book “The invasion and the big powers” which was written by the President`s special associate Makarios Droussiotis.

The book, based on Droussiotis’ research, is about the role and involvement of the major powers of the time, including the USSR, in the illegal 1974 Turkish invasion of Cyprus.

Anastasiade told the Russian Ambassador in Nicosia that the views of any researcher do not express his views or bind him according to Government Spokesman Nikos Christodoulides.
