ATHENS — Costas’ Mitroglou’s close-range winner in the 73rd minute gave defending champion Olympiakos a 2-1 win over Platanias in the Greek league on Jan. 4.

Devin N’Dinga had opened the scoring for Olympiakos in the 17th and Juan Aguilera Nunez equalized in the 50th.

The win kept Olympiakos a point behind league-leading PAOK, a 3-2 winner over Panionios on Jan. 3. Platanias is 12th.

Giannena and Panathinaikos tried to play through thick fog, but the game was twice interrupted and ultimately abandoned in the 25th minute. It will resume at 3 p.m. local time on Jan. 5.

Also, Ergotelis drew 1-1 at Levadiakos and Atromitos and Kalloni played to a scoreless draw.
