With new coach Yiannis Sfairopoulos, Olympiakos gave promoted AEK an 81-62 beating in the Greek basketball league on Nov. 3, the same day that the Reds’ captain Vassilis Spanoulis was named the Euroleague’s Player of the Month for October.

Panionios also had a new coach, the experienced Vangelis Alexandris, but fell to local AGOR 75-65.

Meanwhile, Panelefsiniakos, said it had hired Jimmys Koustenis to replace Giorgos Skarafingas after the team lost 83-68 at Kolossos Rhodes. Panionios and Panelefsiniakos are the only teams without a win after four rounds of games.

Panathinaikos and PAOK stayed undefeated. Panathinaikos whipped Trikala 96-70 away and PAOK bumped off Korivos Amaliadas 84-71 in a game where the father, PAOK coach Soulis Markopoulos, beat the son, Korivos coach Charis Markopoulos.

Aris scored an important win at KAO Dramas, 74-70. Nea Kifissia remained joint third with Olympiakos and Rethymno downing Apollon Patras 63-54 at home.
