“Together we can achieve our goals,” said Nicos Anastasiades, president of the Republic of Cyprus, adding that Cyprus turns a new page in 2015. He also called for unity.

“Speaking in a televised address to mark the New Year, on Wednesday evening, President Anastasiades said that as a result of the sacrifices the people made 2014 was the year “of the stabilization and the restoration of the financial credibility of the state as well as of the consolidation and the revival of the banking system, which resulted in the banking sector successfully passing the stress test…He acknowledged that 2014 was as hard as 2013 and that ‘2015 will not be easy,’ however, he added, ‘during the next year we will create the conditions for a better tomorrow,’” CNA reported.
