Prokopis Pavlopoulos, the president of Greece emphasized that a solution of the Cyprus problem must include the withdrawal of Turkish troops and illegal settlers as well as the guarantee of the European acquis communautaire,  the accumulated legislation, legal acts, and court decisions which constitute EU law.

“The Greek President, who received today a delegation of the board of the Pancyprian Association of Reserve Commandos, described as unacceptable the continuation of the status quo in Cyprus since 1974…Pavlopoulos said that a solution of the Cyprus problem would only then be acceptable when it guarantees Cyprus` course in the framework of the European Union and the Eurozone,” CNA reported.
