The Italian Nicola Ritsoli was the name chose by FIFA officials to blow the whistle in the final of the World Cup on Sunday the 13th of July between Argentina and Germany.

The other candidate was the Spaniard Velasco Carballo, but Ritsoli won on points. Fourth official in the “Marakana” will be Carlos Vera of Ecuador.
