Archbishop Demetrios of America and the Holy Synod invite the Community to the site blessing for the new Church of St. Nicholas at Ground Zero.

The ceremony, which will take place at noon on Saturday, October 18 and was announced today via Facebook, will mark the official start of the rebuilding of the beloved Church that was destroyed on 9/11.

The new church was designed by renowned architect Santiago Calatrava and TNH has previously reported that he will continue to be involved in the project. It is hoped that it will be completed in time for the parish’s 100th anniversary in 2016, and the Archdiocese is looking to celebrate Pascha 2017 there.
