Greeks are known throughout the world as some of the greatest seafarers of all time. A non-profit organization, The Greek Shipping Hall of Fame celebrates the country’s dynamic shipping industry and its renowned founders.

Launched in 2007 with a mission to pay tribute to individuals who have made the this lucrative industry what it is today, the hall of fame includes over 20 personalities who’ve made their mark in the world of shipping through astounding achievements recognized on a global level.

The Greek Shipping Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony and Dinner gala, launched in 2013, includes speeches by industry professionals, live musical performances, and the unveiling of the latest inductees to the hall of fame. The event will this year was held on April 27th at the Hilton Athens, and a portion of the proceeds will benefit a Greek children’s charity.

Past inductees include well-known names such as Chandris, Cotzias, Callimanopoulos, Angelicoussis, Andreadis, Eugenides, Latsis, Goulandris, Livanos, Lemos, and of course, Niarchos and Onassis.
