As Americans, Europeans, and travelers from any land in which lush, green grass grows abundantly know very well, despite all the wondrous beauty Greece has to offer, greenery is not one of them.
Sure, there’s some semblance of green here and there.
But if you’ve got a hankering for that neatly-manicured square strip of a front lawn – they type you might see on a typical American suburban street, you’re probably in the wrong country. Unless, of course, you happen to visit Ixia, on the island of Rhodes and less than a 10-minute drive from Rodos Town (the “hub” of the island), and particularly, the Mira Mare bungalows.
Of course, what you also get as a much-appreciated added bonus, is what you cannot find in any American suburb: the Aegean Sea. Not to mention one of the STANH ice cream parlors, makers of arguably the finest ice cream you’ll ever taste.
The beaches, with their three different shades of blue water, are a sight to behold. Of course, if waves are not your thing you might try the Eastern shore of the island (Mira Mare is along the West).
But for a truly unique Greek island vacation spot, that reminds of the comforts of home with the unique beauty of a Greek island, Mira Mare in Ixia is unforgettable.
