The great pianist Ludovico Einaudi after last year’s great success, returns to Greece at the 26th of September
for one night only at the Herodion. Along with his 11-member orchestra he will present pieces that were included in the soundtracks of the recent film ‘Intouchables’ and ‘I’m Still Here’ and the television adaptations of ‘Doctor Zhivago’, in ‘This is England’ and ‘Acquario’ (where he won the Grolla D’oro for the Best Soundtrack). And of course the new songs as heard on the radio last year is the new album of Ludovico Einaudi, “In A Time Lapse”, a job that took two years to complete.
The Ludovico was born in Turin, Italy and trained as a pianist and composer of classical music at the Conservatory of Milan before continuing his studies with Luciano Berio, one of the most important avant-garde composers of the twentieth century. His career began with a series of awards of excellence for institutions such as the USA’s Tanglewood Festival and the Paris IRCAM, but he turned away from what seemed a bright classical career ,in order to create his own path, which gave him the freedom to ‘reconcile’ broad and conflicting influences. Soon the great artist began to incorporate the compositions of different musical genres and styles such as pop, rock, world and folk music.
