NEW YORK – The President of Cyprus Nicos Anastasiadis Sunday was discharged from Mount Sinai Hospital at noon on December 14 and went to the Regency hotel in Manhattan where he will remain for about ten days. When he receives a “green light” from his doctors he will return to Cyprus.
Just before leaving the hospital President Anastasiadis and heart surgeons David Adams and George Dangas made statements and expressed their satisfaction with the results of surgery and the recovery process.
Anastasiadis was hospitalized on December 1 and the next day underwent surgery by the American heart surgeon David Adams, M.D. for the repair of his mitral and tricuspid valves.
He was in the intensive care unit on his name day, December 6 and on December 10 he received a visit from Vice President Joe Biden.
On Tuesday at 10 AM the President will meet at his hotel with U.S. Assistant Secretary of States Victoria Nuland and the next day he will be visited by UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon.
