KISSIMMEE, FL— Even if hopes for this year are dim or dicey, the future of the Yankees may be brighter than the reputation of their much-maligned minor league players might have led many to believe.
Minor leaguers Ramon Flores, Jake Cave and Greg Bird homered in the late innings for the Yankees, who rallied for six runs in the ninth. Rob Refsnyder’s two-out, bases-loaded single put the Yankees ahead. They ultimately beat the Houston Astros 9-4.
